Kerry wisdom: ‘Maybe the key to happiness is to find yourself funny. This is my afternoon thought whilst sitting in my garden and finding myself hilarious.’ ‘Maybe self love is the answer. Maybe be your own number one fan … Maybe it all starts with us.’

The daughter of writer and public figure, David Icke, has died at the age of 48 following a lengthy battle with an unspecified illness.

Mr Icke shared the news of Islander Kerry’s passing via his social media accounts, posting a picture of her smiling with her dog.

Ryde based David — a 71-year-old former professional footballer and TV presenter — shared the sad news alongside a statement on Twitter.

He wrote:

“My wonderful, beautiful, daughter Kerry passed away today in hospital on the Isle of Wight after a stoic battle against a long illness.

“She was just 48.

“She left this world surrounded by her family and her fantastic boyfriend, Ede, who nursed her magnificently to the end.

“Kerry leaves two teenage children and a family who loved her so much.”

Kerry was considered a popular and generous member of the Isle of Wight community, who put her weight behind a myriad of good causes in recent years.

One of her many poignant social media posts from earlier this year spoke to her optimistic philosophy:

“Maybe the key to happiness is to find yourself funny.

“This is my afternoon thought whilst sitting in my garden and finding myself hilarious.

“Maybe self love is the answer. Maybe be your own number one fan… Maybe it all starts with us.”

Meanwhile, Kerry’s brother, Gareth, also posted a short public tribute to Kerry (below):
