A female worker was stabbed to death at a shop in Germany by an African ‘refugee’ who escaped from a psychiatric facility last week, according to reports.
The shocking incident unfolded at around 1 p.m. on Friday in Wiesloch, a town in the state of Baden-Württemberg.
Ahmad N., a 33-year-old man who came to Germany as an ‘asylum seeker’ from Africa, has been a resident of the Nordbaden Psychiatric Center since a court ruling in 2021, authorities say.
While participating in a ‘work therapy’ program, Ahmad N. managed to break free and flee the grounds.
“Despite the immediate pursuit by the nursing staff who had observed the escape and the immediate search measures taken by the alerted police, the accused was able to move away from the prison premises and ultimately attacked a 30-year-old woman with a knife in a shop in Wiesloch,” Mannheim Police explained in a press release.
Reports indicate the African stole the knife from a bakery before he entered a Tedi discount store and stabbed a saleswoman identified as Lisa S.
Lisa S. was rushed to hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
“The police arrested Ahmad N. shortly after the murder under the ‘threat of using firearms.’ Once again he was not taken into custody, but back to the psychiatric clinic. The district judge justified the decision by saying that it was based on incapacity,” Junge Freiheit reports.
If is unclear what, if any, legal repercussions Ahmad N. could face.
