An adult male was hospitalized after suffering a group sex attack in Sweden this week, according to reports.
The disturbing incident unfolded at around 2 a.m. on Tuesday in Åhus, a coastal town in Skåne County.
Authorities were alerted about the alleged assault at around 4 a.m. that morning.
“Police are investigating a suspected rape in Åhus,” Police Sweden explained in a press release.
“An area in Gästhamnen is cordoned off. The crime is said to have occurred around 02:00 last night.”
The victim said he was attacked by ‘several men’ at a playground, Kristianstadsbladet reports.
“There are more than one perpetrator,” police spokesman Mikael Persson told the paper. “They are not women, but men.”
Oddly, police have stressed that “the public need not worry.”
No suspects have been identified or apprehended at the time of this writing, according to the latest available updates.
Some social media users are wondering if authorities are covering up a potential ‘humiliation ritual’ carried out by migrants.
”En vuxen man misstänks ha blivit gruppvåldtagen av flera män vid en lekplats i skånska kuststaden Åhus.
