Manston migrants dropped off at London Victoria station without assistance in new Home Office storm

Migrants from the Manston processing centre were dropped off at London’s Victoria station and left without assistance for several hours, i can reveal.

It comes as pressure mounts on Home Secretary Suella Braverman over her handling of the Channel crisis and conditions at the asylum centre in Kent, which is overcrowded and has seen outbreaks of disease.

The group were taken on a bus from the Kent holding site and abandoned in central London on Tuesday evening before police were called by a concerned member of the public.

One Syrian man who was on the bus is understood to have spent last night sleeping rough in the capital after missing another bus that eventually took the group to accommodation.

i has seen messages sent by the man to a charity asking for assistance.

He had been held in a tent with around 200 people at Manston, where he said their relevant numbers were called out before boarding the bus for the two-hour drive to London.

After disembarking, the group are believed to have stood outside Victoria for several hours asking for help until somebody contacted the authorities.

They were then taken to accommodation in Norwich after a migrant help group was contacted, i understands.

Danial Abbas, 36, a volunteer with homeless charity Under One Sky, came across the group of migrants as he was out distributing food and warm drinks.
