‘Grouchy and rude’ Post Office branch customers face £10 charge

A Post Office branch has decided to take a firm stand with “grouchy and rude” customers – by charging the “irritable” patrons £10 for an outburst. A sign warning of the rudeness charge has been shared on Reddit, and the word Swyddfa’r Post – Welsh for Post Office – can be seen in the picture, suggesting the outlet is in Wales – although the specific location was not disclosed.

The sign, shared by a customer, reads: “If you are grouchy, irritable, or just plain rude: there will be a £10.00 charge for putting up with you.” The customer, who goes by the username u/Zer0daveexpl0it, said: “My local Post Office has had enough of your ****. I’d like to have been there the day someone was particularly **** to trigger this. Or it’s an attempt at good old British humour. I can see Basil Fawlty having a sign like this. Either way, I didn’t test the fellow and was done and dusted in less than two minutes.”

Fellow Reddit users were divided about the sign, with some appreciating the humorous way of dealing with staff stress, while others didn’t like the idea of being punished if they were in a bad mood, the Mirror reports.
