lastonbury revellers have been accused of hypocrisy for leaving Worthy Farm buried under heaps of rubbish only two days after applauding Greta Thunberg’s eco-conscious message.
Volunteers have begun the gargantuan task of picking up heaps of rubbish strewn across the 800-acre site, as critics accuse the left-leaning crowd of failing to practise what they preach.
Following headline performances by Billie Eilish, Sir Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar, the roughly 200,000 attendees filed out of the Somerset dairy farm leaving behind thousands of discarded paper cups, food containers, flip flops, blow-up mattresses and tents.
On Saturday evening, Ms Thunberg was received by an enthusiastic crowd, as she warned the world was ‘approaching the precipice’.
Ms Thunberg said from the Pyramid Stage: ‘Do not let them drag us another inch closer to the edge. Right now is where we stand our ground.’
