Heather McDonald has spoken out from hospital after collapsing on-stage in the middle of her stand-up show.
The 51-year-old comedian was headlining a sold-out performance in Tempe, Arizona on Saturday evening when the incident happened.
According to TMZ, Heather was only on her second joke of the night and quipped about Covid: ‘I’m vaxxed, double vaxxed, boosted and flu shot and shingle shot and haven’t gotten Covid and Jesus loves me most.’
It’s immediately after delivering this line that Heather collapsed and hit her head on the floor. Audience members reportedly thought it may have been part of her act before an EMT nurse in the audience and rushed on-stage to help her.
An ambulance was called with paramedics tending to Heather. She passed on going to hospital in the ambulance and instead was taken there by her sister-in-law.
Hours later, Heather updated her concerned fans from her hospital bed, saying in her Instagram stories: ‘I’m so, so sorry. I passed out on stage. I did one joke and felt so dizzy. You can see my eye… when I fell. Oh my God, I feel so terrible.
