Scrapping rules on face masks in schools will make the lives of headteachers harder, a head warned.
From Thursday pupils no longer have to wear face coverings in communal areas, and the need to wear them in classrooms was removed last week.
But some heads are continuing to insist on pupils wearing them, as infection rates spiral among schoolchildren. They said changing the rules will cause confusion and potential conflict.
Ashid Ali, head of London Enterprise Academy, said: “It makes my job harder as we now have to debate with parents, staff and children why the rules are different.”
