An alternative Christmas event has hit London this year, with Father Christmas being dethroned and replaced by Mother Christmas.
The first-ever Mother Christmas parade is due to take place on Monday 13th December on Hampstead Heath.
Organisers at Electric Daisy Flower Farm are inviting women to join a candlelit procession and wear all white attire.
The event coincides with the feast day of St Lucia, which is widely celebrated across Scandinavia.
Those who attend the event can then also browse the independent shops on Swain’s Lane and there will be mulled wine, nibbles and refreshments for all.
Expect plenty of wreaths and evergreen decorations which have been inspired by pagan celebrations and Scandinavian festivals.
