An HGV driver trying desperately to unload his goods in London during the ongoing UK transport crisis was given two parking tickets today (October 8). Footage filmed by the driver, who goes by the name of VernHGV, showed him arguing with parking attendants in the Whitechapel area of east London as he was ticketed for arriving too early at an unloading bay and then a second time for double-parking when a different bay was occupied by two cars.
“Used a loading bay early but I had no other choice,” said Vern. “The second time the bay was unlawfully occupied,” he added. The UK is desperately trying to encourage Britons to train to be HGV drivers to solve the chronic shortage that has led to supply-chain issues.
