Dr Hilary Jones has said that Strictly professionals have a “duty of care” to reveal whether they have had their Covid vaccine.
It comes after reports that the crew on the set are “furious” at two professionals – who have not been named – for refusing to be jabbed. This has resulted in some celebrities being reluctant to dance and staff being employed by contractors – such as make-up artists and costume designers – irritated as they are required to be double jabbed.
Giving his own opinion on Loose Women today, Dr Hilary said: “We have a duty of care to other people as individuals and as employers.
“If you are going to be that close to somebody, right there in their face and breathing their breath – you’re going to be sweating, you’re going to be touching for hours at a time – the risk is much higher if you’re doing that with an unvaccinated person. They’re more likely to have Covid, they’re more likely to transmit it.
“There’s a duty of care – it’s common courtesy to say to somebody, ‘Are you OK with that? Are you cool with that?’
