‘I work for Mersey Care NHS Trust, and we’re constantly getting emails about taking the vaccine etc. Today’s email suggests that 700 offered vaccine slots for us staff are still available this week, that we should take it, or we lose out on the Oxford vaccine.
With the yearly flu vaccination push, we’re told that 80% of the work force must get the flu jab. We’re hounded every day to reach the target – but once they hit 80% all emails and line managers stop bothering us. Why? Because if the trust reaches the 80% target, the trust receives it’s financial incentive of £100,000! If not (and hasn’t happened whilst I’ve been here) the trust is fined £80,000.
Money, money, money …’
