A testing hub for Teessiders WITHOUT covid symptoms is set for launch after weeks of preparation.
Efforts to bring a mass “community testing” centre to Stockton Splash were set in motion before Christmas.
Now the hub off Church Road will welcome people from Wednesday with council chiefs urging asymptomatic folk to get tested as Teesside enters another lockdown (January 6).
Quick turnaround “lateral flow tests” will be used at the sites to give results within an hour.
The seven-days-a-week site in Stockton town centre will be accessible through a marquee at the back of the building for pre-booked tests.
The Army has helped co-ordinate the council’s testing plans in the run up to the new hubs being launched.
