Boris Johnson is set to slap all pubs, bars and restaurants in England with a 10pm curfew in a bid to tackle the soaring number of Covid-19 cases.
The Tory Prime Minister will address announce the new rules during a live, televised address at 8pm on Tuesday night.
He is expected to announce more restrictive measures for the hospitality industry who, by law, will only be allowed to provide table service during limited trading hours.
The new rules are being guided by scientific advice and will be announced following an emergency Cobra meeting with the other UK leaders.
The Record earlier told how a leaked Scottish government paper detailed 16 restriction options which were being considered to curb the rising number of cases in Scotland.
