As children all over the US prepare for a return to school the CDC has published a pretty little infographic and FAQ sheet.
The infographic suggests parents should prepare their children for a potential sleepover at school.
- Ask how you would be reunited with your child in an emergency or evacuation
- Bring extra medications, special food, or supplies your child would need if you were separated overnight.
- Complete a backpack card and tuck one in your child’s backpack and your wallet
What exactly are we preparing our children for?
It certainly seems a little excessive to be preparing children for evacuations and overnight stays simply because of a virus that is comparable to influenza in severity, a virus that kills 0% of children.
The infographic is not directly related to the pandemic, but it has been added to the teacher’s resources on the CDC website in the past few weeks.
