Piers Morgan kicked off his return to GMB on Tuesday morning with an explosive interview with Piers Corbyn, the brother of former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
The wide-ranging interview took place after Piers Corbyn said he was slapped with a £10,000 fine under newly-introduced coronavirus laws for organising an anti-lockdown protest in central London.
As the interview kicked off, Piers Morgan introduced him by saying: “He’s controversially denied the existence of climate change, doubted coronavirus and promoted unfounded theories about 5G, and now Piers Corbyn has become one of the first people to be fined £10,000 under coronavirus laws restricting large gatherings.”
Corbyn immediately corrected Susanna Reid, saying “35,000” attended the rally organised by him in London, rather than hundreds.
The interview, lasting 12 minutes, regularly dissolved into shouting – with Dr Hilary Jones saying Piers Corbyn “shouldn’t be on air” and his statements were ‘littered with errors’.
Interjecting in the interview, he took aim at Corbyn’s claims over hydroxychloroquine and zinc as a cure for coronavirus, saying they had been ‘dissed’ already by ‘hundreds of different experts’.
However, drawing the controversial interview to a close, Piers Morgan went on an explosive rant.
