‘Environmental activist Greta Thunberg called upon thousands of demonstrators at a mass climate change rally in Bristol to ‘push for change’ as she slammed world leaders for ‘behaving like children’.
The 17-year-old, who came to international prominence two years ago, addressed a huge crowd of young people including children skipping school who descended upon College Green at 11.45am.
Brought on stage to the sound of an estimated 20,000 people chanting her name, Greta blamed politicians for the ‘suffering and dying from the consequences of the climate and environmental emergency’.
Standing before the impressive demonstration, she thundered: ‘Nothing is being done to halt this crisis, despite all the beautiful words and promises for the elected officials.’
