Greta Thunberg: Teen climate activist to join school strike in Bristol

‘Climate activist Greta Thunberg has revealed she is “heading to the UK” to join a school strike in Bristol.

The 17-year-old Swede announced on Twitter that she will take part in the Bristol Youth Strike 4 Climate on Friday.

Milly Sibson, one of the strike organisers, described Thunberg as an “idol” after the teen activist inspired climate protests around the world.

The 17-year-old from Bristol said: “We are all just so excited – everyone is so excited about the thought of hearing her talk.

“I would love the chance to meet her because she is the founder of this movement and she is so important to it.

“She is an idol even though she is younger than me. We really hope loads of people join us to welcome her to Bristol.”

Milly said Greta had originally planned to take part in a protest in London but the area planned for the event in the capital was too small.’
